Before you arrive, we prepare the studio, styling and setups for your session. We know that some new mums feel unsure about being in photographs so soon after having a baby. That is completely understandable. But even a few simple photographs of you holding your newborn can become incredibly special in years to come.
Your baby will not notice whether you felt tired that day. They will see how tiny they were in your arms and how loved they have always been.
Sibling photographs can also be included, whether you choose a Mini or Full Session. An older brother or sister meeting the new baby is such an important part of your family story, and we will keep those photographs relaxed and simple.
For families with young children, we can also advise on the easiest way to plan the session so siblings are not expected to sit patiently in the studio for longer than needed.
Should We Choose Digital Images or Prints?
Our Mini Newborn Session includes 5 edited digital images, which is ideal if you would like a small collection to keep, share with family or print yourselves.
Additional digital images from a Mini Session are available for £25 each, so there is always the option to add more if you fall in love with extra photographs.
With our Full Newborn Session, you view your finished images afterwards and choose what you would like to purchase. Some families choose digital files, some choose mounted prints or artwork for their walls, and many choose a mixture.
Digital images are lovely to have, but we also know how often photographs stay on a phone or computer and never make it into a frame.

When Is the Best Time to Book a Newborn Photoshoot?
We recommend reserving your newborn session after your 20-week scan.
As babies rarely arrive exactly on their due date, we do not expect you to know the final date of your session while you are still pregnant. Instead, we reserve provisional space around your expected arrival, and once your baby is born, you get in touch and we arrange the most suitable appointment.
Newborn sessions are usually best during the first few weeks after birth, when babies are often sleepier and naturally comfortable in those beautiful swaddled, wrapped or gently posed photographs.
However, if your baby has already arrived or is a little older, please do not feel you have missed your chance. We can still create lovely photographs of your baby, although the style may naturally change as they become more alert.
Because we only take a limited number of newborn bookings each month, booking during pregnancy gives you the best chance of securing a session.
